SUMMARY:Seminar \"New Frontiers in Thermal Characterization of Materials fo
 r\nEnergy” by Daniel P. Sellan
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Daniel P. Sellan\, PhD\nPostdoctoral Fellow\nThe University of
Texas at Austin\n\nMy research is in the area of heat transfer science and
engineering\,\nan emerging field that seeks to develop an understanding o
f energy\ntransport at an atomistic and carrier level [e.g.\, phonon (latt
 ice\nvibration)\, photon\, electron\, and fluid particle]. I use a combina
 tion\nof atomistic calculations\, statistical thermodynamics\, traditional
 \nheat transfer analysis\, and bulk and micro/nanoscale experiments to\nso
lve critical problems in energy research.
