DESCRIPTION:Biological systems are essential in biopharmaceuticals\, where 
 rising\ndemand requires efficient bioreactor operation. Scaling from lab t
 o\nindustry is limited by gradients from poor mixing\, reducing yields\nth
 rough cell stress and adaptation. This work quantified dissolved\noxygen\,
  pH\, and kLa gradients in a 20 L bioreactor. While cell density\nand meta
 bolite gradients were inconclusive\, metabolic responses were\nmodeled wit
 h modified Monod kinetics\, which adapted well to differing\nconditions.
