DESCRIPTION:ABSTRACT:  Globe warming and energy security are two major cha
 llenges\nthe world is facing today. To preserve our environment and energy
 \nresource\, it is imperative to maximize the utilization of existing\nfue
 ls while exploring renewable sources. Fuel cell and lithium metal\nbattery
  as the next-generation high-efficiency energy conversion and\nstorage dev
 ices have attracted a great deal of attentions in recent\nyears. This pres
 entation summarizes some recent progresses in my\nlaboratory in these two 
 research areas.
