Thursday, July 22, 2021 — 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM EDT

Join us to learn more about the exciting research being conducted by masters students in the Chemical Engineering department.

To graduate, MASc students must complete a degree milestone by presenting one research seminar before submitting their thesis. This term's series of MASc seminars, which will be assessed by the presenters' supervisors and one member of the Graduate Research Council, will include the following:

Presenter Seminar

Yan Wu , supervised by Professor P. Chen

Improve the cycle life of MnO2-Zn battery by utilizing the “side reactions"

Bhoomi Mavani, supervised by Professor Penlidis

Polymeric materials for detection of Formaldehyde

Kathryn Toffolo , supervised by Professor Sandoval

Optimal Design and Control of a Packed Bed Chemical-Looping Combustion Reactor
Thomas Storwhicki, supervised by Professor Pope Nanomaterial Heterostructures at the Air Water Interface
Jing Sy, supervised by Professor Moresli Enhancing protein content of plant cheese analogue with whole soybeans
Mingrui Liang, supervised by Professor Zhao The tribological study of CNC/PU composite
Stephen Dauphinais, supervised by Professor Ioannidis Modeling Colloidal Transport in Saturated and Unsaturated Porous Media Using OpenPNM

All graduate students are welcome  - and encouraged! - to attend these seminars. Each student that attends the full hour of seminars, including those presenting, will receive credit for seminar attendance.
