The Periodic Table Project has been a great succeswith the free tablet apps having almost 50,000 users. The Periodic Table Project App is available for Apple, Blackberry and Android devices.

Chem 13 News magazine ran a contest to design tiles for the four newly named elements, nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts) and oganesson (Og). Over 200 submissions were received.  See the new elements contest winners.

    Juewen Liu will receive more than $100,000 over three years from the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change for research initiatives that test pathogens and chemical contaminants in water.
