Making Chiral Quaternary Carbons
Department of Chemistry
Monday, March 18, 2013
Abstract: Several methods to make chiral quaternary carbons will be presented in the context of their applications in total syntheses of natural products. One method is specific to making this challenging molecular fragment and its history, development, and applications will be discussed in more detail. Cycloaddition, cuprate displacement, and rearrangement are key reactions that will be presented.
