Platinum, 78, Greenwood School, Toronto ON
Platinum: Our tile for platinum shows the atomic number and symbol in the appropriate grey-white colour. The symbol on the inside depicts a catalytic converter, one of platinum's uses. A catalytic converter uses platinum as a catalyst to reduce the toxicity of vehicle emissions. We thought this was interesting, relevant, and applicable to our daily lives on many fronts. The tile is made out of dyed rice paper and white card-board with silver pen as accents.
