Finally the iPod version of the Periodic Table Project is available. Last year we launched tablet apps for the iPad and the Playbook. With the assistance of 3M Canada and JWA Group, there is now an iPod version of the Periodic Table Project you can download for free. Students can find basic properties of each element along with the artistically designed tiles.
Congratulations to Dr. Toby (Tao) Zeng, a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Pierre-Nicholas Roy, who has won the prestigious Polanyi Prize. This is a provincial prize that carries an award of $20,000. The Polanyi Prize is named after John Charles Polanyi, recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Congratulations to Dr. Janusz Pawliszyn for being awarded the Chemical Institute of Canada 2013 Environment Division Research and Development Award for distinguished contributions to research and/or development in the fields of environmental chemistry or environmental chemical engineering, while working in Canada.
Dr. Pawliszyn will be presented with the award during the 96th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition, which is taking place in Quebec City from May 26-30, 2013, and will be asked to present a lecture at the Conference.
