The 2016 edition of SOUSCC (Southern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference) was held at Trent University on April 2, 2016. We are pleased to announce that two undergraduate students from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Waterloo won awards at SOUSCC.
Susan Kelso won 2nd place in the Biological Chemistry division.
Vanessa Tran won 2nd place in the Physical/Theoretical/Computational Chemistry division.
Congratulations to them and to all the participants from Waterloo.
Imagine a movie showing particles in a gas moving and colliding with each other. Then when you play the movie backwards the velocity of the particles will be opposite, but their motion is still governed by the same laws of physics – we could just as well call the backwards film “forward” – there is no fundamental way to distinguish the arrow of time. This is called time-reversal symmetry.
