Tristan Chidley, a doctoral student with Prof. Graham Murphy, was awarded best “Flash Talk” at the 30th annual Quebec-Ontario Mini-Symposium for Synthetic and Bioorganic Chemistry (QOMSBOC), hosted by University of Ottawa from November 8th to 10th, 2019.
In the five-minute conceptual pitch, Tristan explained how blue light from LEDs can be used to cause cyclopropanation reactions. The research is already generating new insights into this fundamental photochemistry. The work is being done in collaboration with the Murphy and Hopkins labs (Waterloo) and the Quideau Lab (UBordeaux).
Congratulations, Tristan!
