Congratulations to Chemistry graduate students Kevin Bishop and Paul Stanish who were winners at the Waterloo Science 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on March 5. The 3MT is a university-wide competition for research-based masters thesis and doctoral students at the University of Waterloo. Competitors have 1 static slide and 3 minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research to a non-specialist audience.
Kevin Bishop, an M.Sc. student with Dr. Pierre-Nicholas Roy, placed first in heat 1 of the competition. Paul Stanish, a Ph.D. student with Dr. Pavle Radovanovic, received honourable mention. Kevin Bishop and the winner from heat 2, Alexander Smith (Physics), will represent Science in the University 3MT finals on March 27. Paul Stanish will be an alternate if Kevin or Alexander cannot participate.
