Q completed her undergraduate honours degree in Geography and minor in International Studies at the University of Waterloo. She's previously worked for the City of Toronto and the Government of Canada. Currently, her research interests are in smart cities, spatial data science, and data governance.
Logan completed his undergraduate degree at Concordia University, Montreal in Urban Studies with a Minor in Human Environment. His research focuses on the government adoption of AR and VR as civic technologies, along with this technology’s role and future in citizen-government processes. Currently, he is an ECCE Student Associate.
I am an associate professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management (GEM) at the University of Waterloo. My research seeks to understand how governments, citizens, and private companies share information through geospatial technology, including open data, the geoweb, social media, mobile devices, and the process of crowdsourcing.
Zarin completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and her MES at the University of Waterloo. She has been involved with the open source geospatial group of Bangladesh and provided training to different projects for open source data collection and data visualization techniques. Her research focuses on analyzing how governments are incorporating citizen contribution through open government initiatives, along with the challenges and opportunities.
