Students are invited to apply to a Undergraduate Research Assistantship (URA) for the Fall 2019 term. Applications must be submitted to the Dean of Engineering Office in E7 7302 by 4:30pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 in order to be considered.

Co-operative Education and The Problem Lab are pleased to offer students on their work term the opportunity to win a First Prize Tuition Scholarship of $1,500 or Second Prize Tuition Scholarship of $750, applicable to your next academic term. The Co-op Problem Lab Award is earned by providing the best analysis of an important problem relevant to a co-op employer or the employer’s industry.
The competition invites teams of up to 4 students to choose an important industry problem, and thoroughly research its history, scope, and impact, before pitching the findings to a panel of judges on November 14th to compete for a share of up to $30,000 in funding. The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
