The Civil, Environmental & Geological Engineering Society invites you to come learn about mass timber from structural engineer Cory Zurell.

Cory is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Waterloo. His portfolio contains significant contribution to the timber industry, including structural work at St. Jacob’s Farmers Market, Erindale Student Centre, University of Toronto at Mississauga, and Schulich School of Business, York University.

CEGES invites you to the Winter 2018 Industry Night on Mon Jan 22 in DC Fishbowl(1301)! Come out to network with industry professionals, students, professors & faculty, while enjoying free pizza & refreshments. You'll have the opportunity to chat and gain contacts in the Civil, Environmental and Geological Engineering industry. Attending Companies include: Miller Group, MTE Consultants, Walterfedy, Urbantech, PEO, OSPE, PEO-Grand River Chapter. 

Feel free to come and go during the event 5:30-7:30pm! This is a networking event only - so no resumes!

CEGES is sending a bus to the new Guelph Facility of RWDI Consulting Engineers on March 1st, 2018. The cost per person will be $10 and will include the bus ride and refreshments. Tickets can be purchased from your CEGES class reps! The bus will leave at 5:15PM from the DWE cul-de-sac along Ring Road, and will return no later than 8:30PM to the same spot.

Established in 1972, Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin Inc. (RWDI) is a specialty consulting engineering firm. The RWDI group of companies has offices in Canada, USA, United Kingdom, India, China, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Vimy Henderson is a consultant on materials and pavement engineering projects, based in Golder's GTA-Mississauga, ON location. Dr. Henderson works on a variety of flexible and rigid pavement projects for Golder's public and private sector clients. She has extensive experience with pervious concrete, a sustainable, permeable pavement solution that encourages water filtration into the underlying soils, which relieves stress on storm water infrastructure while facilitating the natural water cycle.

The first event of the Spring 2021 term was a Bingo and Trivia Night on May 29 through Microsoft Teams that had 10 participants attend ranging from first years to fourth years of all engineering programs in the department.  Originally, the event was planned to last an hour with only three bingo rounds. However, since each round went by faster than anticipated, several rounds of trivia questions were also played.
