IC3 plays a big role in selecting delegations from the University of Waterloo to participate in the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This is an incredible experience for students to contribute to the global climate change dialogue.
IC3 has sent student delegations to participate in COP19, COP21, COP22, COP23, COP24, and COP25. The purpose of each trip is to participate in conference events, gain experiential learning, network with other delegates, and communicate about the experience to the campus community back at home.
This video was produced by Steven Jia (Systems Design Engineering student & COP23 delegate). |

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
