National Forum

University of Waterloo’s Climate Institute is hosting the first annual national forum,  "Accelerating Climate Education for the Next Generation of Professionals" 

Tuesday April 8th, 2025 - 10:30-4:00PM ET

Engage with experts, researchers, instructors, program specialists and accreditation bodies as we focus on how to build climate education into professional degree programs. Supported by Natural Resources Canada, the forum will highlight emerging trends in integrating climate education, skills, and competencies.  

Attendees of this complimentary conference will: 

  • Gain insights on the results of national research on climate education in professional degree programs and accreditations. 
  • Hear directly from program leads and instructors from post-secondary institutions about successes and challenges in integrating climate change into their courses. 
  • Share insights for meaningful and authentic climate education to prepare the next generation of professionals for work in a changing climate. 
  • Discover strategies to effectively integrate holistic climate education in post-secondary professional degree programs.  
  • Build their professional network of post-secondary educators and program leads passionate about climate and sustainability education.
