The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has released the third report for its sixth major assessment of the science of climate change; Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change. Sarah Burch, Executive Director at IC3 and professor of Geography and Environmental Management, is a lead author for Chapter 17: Accelerating the transition in the context of sustainable development. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCCC) released the Working Group I contribution, Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis, to the Sixth Assessment Report on August 9, 2021. It addresses the most up-to-date physical understanding of the climate system and climate change, bringing together the latest advances in climate science, and combining multiple lines of evidence from paleoclimate, observations, process understanding, and global and regional climate simulations.
