In 2017, we launched the Co-op Fee Comprehensive Annual Review to clearly outline the co-op fee setting process. Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) has since engaged with student leadership throughout the annual process to bring greater transparency to the co-op fee for students.
In short, this annual review aims to:
- establish guiding principles for the fee expenditure model
- ensure defined consultation process that engages students and other stakeholders in the fee recommendations
- provide transparency about how co-op fees are spent
- develop a process for determining and assessing fees
Student consultations
Student consultations are a valuable mechanism for CEE to understand student perspectives on the co-op fee annual review process. After the annual financial analysis, student groups are invited to provide their opinion regarding the fee increase and learn about Co-operative Education’s services, improvements and initiatives to support students.
These student consultations include:
- CEE Council
- Co-op Student Council (WUSA, GSA, student society and at-large student representation)
- Graduate University Relations Committee
- Undergraduate Student Relations Committee
