Where in the World? International Photo Contest 2017

International Education Week kicked off with co-op’s eighth annual Where in the World? International Co-op Photo Contest. The contest showcased the unique experiences of Waterloo co-op students across the globe. In just five hours on November 16, more than 300 students, employers and university staff members voted for their top two photo picks.

Kinesiology student tackles new osteoporosis program

Waterloo kinesiology student Caray Ford is making people stronger. She developed an osteoporosis exercise program, Strong Bones, to help people with low bone mass strengthen their thoracic posture. Caray pitched the Strong Bones program to her co-op supervisor at Fit Bodies Fit Minds, a studio in Sault St. Marie that focuses on corrective exercise.

Record number of co-op students interviewed this fall

A record-breaking 13,909 co-op students met with employers during the first ten days of main round employer interviews at the Tatham Centre this fall. That’s a 15 percent increase in interviews (including in-person, phone and web-based) over last year. On October 19, more than 1,700 interviews took place, breaking another record for the most interviews in one day.

Co-op Connections Pay Off For These Alumni

Matt Paznar (BASc '05) will never forget his first co-op work term. After securing a position at engineering and environmental consulting firm R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited, he arrived in the office just after the Walkerton drinking water E. coli outbreak made news in 2000.
