Abstract:

I will discuss some of the non-commutative algebras that arise naturally in graph theory. In many cases these arise by adding a projection to an adjacency algebra (or to a Bose-Mesner algebra). Another source arise from raising and lowering operators on posets. In addition to examples, I will treat some of the basic theory we need to work with these algebras.
