 functions as they relate to my\nMaster's thesis. Factorial Shur functions 
 are a generalization of\nSchur functions with a second family of \"shift\"
  parameters. In 2009\,\nZinn-Justin reproved the answer to a tiling proble
 m (the puzzle rule)\nwith a toy fermionic model\, using techniques from ph
 ysics to extract\nthe result.
