SUMMARY:Tutte Colloquium - Sophie Spirkl
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TITLE: Pure pairs\n\nSpeaker:\n Sophie Spirkl\n\nAffiliation:\
n University of Waterloo\n\nZoom:\n Please email Emma Watson.\n\nABSTRACT
:\n\nA pure pair in a graph G is a pair of subsets A and B of the vertex\n
set such that between A and B\, either all edges or no edges are\npresent
in G. This concept was first introduced in connected with the\nErdos-Hajna
l conjecture\, but has since developed a life of its own. I\nwill give an
overview of results and open questions on pure pairs.\n\nBased on joint wo
rk with Maria Chudnovsky\, Jacob Fox\, Alex Scott\, and\nPaul Seymour.
