 his talk concerns the cohomology rings of complex Grassmannians. In\n2003\
 , Reiner and Tudose conjectured the form of the Hilbert series for\ncertai
 n subalgebras of these cohomology rings. We build on their work\nin two wa
 ys. First\, we conjecture two natural bases for these\nsubalgebras that wo
 uld imply their conjecture using notions from the\ntheory of k-Schur funct
 ions. Second we formulate an analogous\nconjecture for Lagrangian Grassman
 nians.\n\nJoint work with Michael Feigen\, Victor Reiner\, and Ajmain Yami
 n.
