SUMMARY:Algebraic Graph Theory Seminar - Paula Kimmerling
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TITLE: Average Mixing Matrices of Trees and Stars\n\nSpeaker:\
 n Paula Kimmerling\n\nAffiliation:\n Washington State University\n\nZoom:\
n Contact Soffia Arnadottir\n\nABSTRACT:\n\nWe define the average mixing m
atrix (AMM) of a continuous-time quantum\nwalk on a graph using the orthog
onal projections onto the eigenspaces\nof the adjacency matrix A. From the
re\, one of the properties that has\nbeen studied is the rank of the AMM.
This is easiest to do if the\neigenvalues of A are simple\, and we’ll re
view some of the results on\nthis from Coutinho et. al. (2018).
