CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TITLE: Structured (In)Feasibility: Nonmonotone Operator Splitt
 ing in\nNonlinear Spaces\n\nSpeaker:\n Bissan Ghaddar\n\nAffiliation:\n We
 stern University\n\nZoom:\n Register\n[https://www.fields.utoronto.ca/cgi-

\nABSTRACT:\n\nSeveral challenging optimization problems in power networks
involve\noperational decisions\, non-linear models of the underlying phys
ics\ndescribed by the network as well as uncertainty in the system\nparame
ters. However\, these networks exhibit a nice structure. This\ntalk provid
es an overview of approaches that combine recent advances\nin robust optim
ization and conic relaxations of polynomial\noptimization problems along w
ith exploiting the structure of the\nunderlying problem. These approaches
are demonstrated on applications\narising in power networks.
