SUMMARY:Algebraic Graph Theory Seminar - Paul Horn
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Title: Graphs\, curvature\, and local discrepancy\n\nSpeaker:\n
  Paul Horn\n\nAffiliation:\n University of Denver\n\nLocation:\n contact S
abrina Lato for Zoom link\n\nAbstract: Spectral graph theory\, the use of
eigenvalues to study\ngraphs\, gives an important window into many propert
ies of graphs. \nOne of the reasons for this is that the eigenvalues can
be used to\ncertify the `pseudo-randomness' of the edge set of a graph.
In\nrecent years\, several notions of discrete curvature have been\nintrod
uced that gives a 'local' way (depending on the neighborhood\nstructure of
vertices) to study some of the same properties that\neigenvalues can capt
 ure.
