DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce a virtual workshop in honour of Chri
 s\nGodsil's 75th birthday. Chris Godsil's imprint on mathematics goes\nbe
 yond algebraic combinatorics to merge theory and application\,\nemerging r
 esearch areas and well-developed mathematical tools. Chris\nGodsil is a re
 search leader in discrete mathematics and he continues\nto be influential 
 in a wide range of mathematical subdisciplines and\ncommunities around the
  world.  He has long been a prominent member of\nthe Canadian combinatori
 al community\, working first at Simon Fraser\nUniversity and then playing 
 a leadership role in the Department of\nCombinatorics and Optimization at 
 the University of Waterloo\; as a\nresult\, Chris Godsil has influenced mu
 ltiple generations of\nmathematicians in Canada and abroad.\n\nThe goal of
  this workshop is not just to honour Chris Godsil's\ncontributions and his
  impact on mathematics\, but also to also bring\ntogether researchers in d
 iscrete math whose work has been influenced\nby Chris Godsil. We invite re
 searchers in combinatorics\, matrix\ntheory\, and quantum information theo
 ry from all over the world to join\nus\, and will have sessions to accomod
 ate a range of time zones.
