SUMMARY:Cryptography Seminar Series & CrySP Speaker Series on Privacy -\nKa
thrin Hövelmanns
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TITLE: Fujisaki-Okamoto - a recipe for post-quantum public key\
nencryption.\n\nSPEAKER:\n Kathrin Hövelmanns\n\nAFFILIATION:\n Eindhoven
University of Technology\n\nLOCATION:\n MC 5501\n\nABSTRACT: In this talk
\, I will give a short introduction to\nFujisaki-Okamoto\, a conversion th
at (intuitively) turns post-quantum\nhardness assumptions into post-quantu
m secure public-key encryption.\nFujisaki-Okamoto featured prominently in
NIST's post-quantum\nstandardisation effort for public-key encryption\, in
cluding the\nemerging new standard Kyber. If time permits\, I will sketch
open\nquestions surrounding Fujisaki-Okamoto and potential improvements in
\nsecurity and efficiency.
