 T: We make the argument that by combining pure mathematical\ntools with co
 mputational insights and applications from a vast array\nof disciplines\, 
 combinatorics is the perfect area to see all the\nwonders of math on displ
 ay. Applications discussed include the\nanalysis of classical algorithms\,
  restricted permutations\, models\npredicting the shape of biomembranes\, 
 queuing theory\, random walks\,\nratchet models for gene expression\, maxi
 mum likelihood degree in\nalgebraic statistics\, transcendence of zeta val
 ues\, sampling\nalgorithms for perfect matchings in bipartite graphs\, and
  parallel\nsynthesis for DNA storage.
