 TION:\n MC 5479\n\nABSTRACT: Quantum data compression is a fundamental qu
 antum\ninformation processing task\, where the sender compresses many copi
 es\nof a given quantum state into the smallest possible storage space\nbef
 ore transmitting it to the receiver. Among various quantum data\ncompressi
 on setups and analyses\, the trade-off between the efficiency\n(rate) and 
 the error of the compression has been investigated using\nthe framework of
  quantum rate-distortion theory\, in which a small\nerror is tolerated to 
 improve the rate. In this talk\, adopting the\nquantum rate-distortion the
 ory\, we reveal the optimal rate-error\ntrade-off of quantum data compress
 ion with and without the assistance\nof quantum entanglement. Moreover\, w
 e generalize these results to\nfigure out the full rate region where both 
 the communication and\nentanglement rates vary. Thus\, we successfully obt
 ain a complete form\nof the rate-distortion theory of quantum data compres
 sion with\nentanglement.
