  combinatorial\napproach to understanding quasisymmetric polynomials via a
 \nquasisymmetric analogue of \"divided differences\". The resulting\ncombi
 natorial theory is paired with a geometric theory that closely\nfollows th
 e classical development of Schubert calculus and Schubert\nvarieties. Next
