DESCRIPTION:TITLE: New Strongly Regular Graphs from Finite Semifields and
 Finite\nGeometry\n\nSPEAKER:\n\nStefano Lia\n\nAFFILIATION:\n\nUmeå Unive
rsity\n\nLOCATION:\n Please contact Sabrina Lato for Zoom link.\n\nABSTR
ACT: Finite geometry often provides natural examples of highly\nstructured
combinatorial objects\, many of which exhibit strong\nsymmetry properties
. \n\nIn particular\, many constructions of strongly regular graphs arise
\nfrom classical geometric configurations. In this talk\, we will present\
ntwo new constructions of quasi-polar spaces\, that give rise to two\nfami
lies of pairwise non-isomorphic strongly regular graphs\, having\nthe same
non-trivial automorphism group.\n\nBoth constructions are related to a pa
ir of commuting polarities in a\nprojective space. Surprisingly\, one of t
hese constructions is\nconnected to the algebraic structure of finite semi
 fields and their\ntensor representation.
