SUMMARY:Algebraic and enumerative combinatorics seminar - Nathan\nPagliarol
i- Counting triangulations from bootstrapping tensor\nintegrals
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:SPEAKER:\n Nathan Pagliaroli\n\nAFFILIATION:\n University of Wa
terloo\n\nLOCATION:\n MC 5417\n\nABSTRACT: Tensor integrals are the gener
ating functions of\ntriangulations of pseudo-manifolds. Such triangulation
s are\nconstructed by gluing simplices along facets. These generating\nfun
ctions satisfy an infinite system of recursive equations called the\nDyson
-Schwinger equations\, derived by reclusively gluing together\ntriangulati
ons. Such integrals also satisfy positivity constraints. By\ncombining the
Dyson-Schwinger equations and positivity constraints in\na process called
bootstrapping we are able to deduce known results for\nthe generating fun
ctions of certain classes of triangulations as well\nas find new explicit
formulae. This talk is based on joint work with\nCarlos I. Perez-Sanchez a
nd Brayden Smith.\n\nTHERE WILL BE A PRE-SEMINAR PRESENTING RELEVANT BACK
GROUND AT THE\nBEGINNING GRADUATE LEVEL STARTING AT 1:30PM.
