SUMMARY:Crypto Reading Group -Mojtaba Fadavi-A new lattice-based threshold\
nsignature scheme with Identifiable Aborts (IA)
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Speaker\n Mojtaba Fadavi \n\nAffiliation\n University of Waterl
 oo\n\nLocation\n MC 6029\n\nABSTRACT: A (t\,n)-threshold signature scheme
splits a signing key\namong \"n\" participants so that any \"t\" can join
tly produce a valid\nsignature under a single public key\, while fewer tha
n \"t\" cannot.\nThere are three common types of threshold signature schem
es: (i)\nRobust schemes\, which guarantee signature production provided at
  least\n\"t\" parties are honest\; (ii) Identifiable-abort schemes\, which
may\nfail to produce a signature but expose at least one misbehaving\nsig
ner\; and (iii) Simple schemes\, which guarantee neither robustness\nnor i
dentifiable abort\, but output a valid signature when \"t\" honest\npartic
ipants collaborate without deviating from the protocol.\n\nMotivated by NI
 ST's recent emphasis on post-quantum multiparty and\nthreshold designs\, t
his talk presents a new approach to centralized\,\nlattice-based (t\,n)-th
reshold signatures. We first construct a\n(t\,n)-threshold one-time signat
ure and then upgrade it to a many-time\nscheme by combining it with a long
-term signature so that all\nthreshold signatures verify under a single pu
 blic key.
