a forest of black trees surrounded by fog
The always exceptional Brash children, Hazy and Queenie and Thunder and Toot, grew up knowing they were the generation that would save the world. In fact, the first time Hazy saved the world she was 13 — and that was the start of all her misfortunes. Years later, when the sisters and brother are brought together by a wedding and by illness, they are forced to confront the impending death of the woodland where they spent their childhood. Welcome to the Tree Museum is a multimedia performance, featuring a lumberjack choir, set in a world (much like our own) that is casually racing towards ecological disaster.

This performance is the development of a research and creation process that has its roots in the winter 2018 Performance Creation course. During this process, students learned the meaning of ecology, and their agency in relation to this concept, through knowledge gained via performance techniques and extensive research of the subject.

We are holding a read-through of this new script in order to hear it come alive and give feedback to the playwright. Everyone is welcome to attend.
