The University of Waterloo’s maker and entrepreneurial spirit shined bright at Maker Expo on Saturday, September 10. Hosted at Kitchener City Hall, the event brought together a diverse, family-friendly showcase of artists, makers, and hands-on activities featuring select UWaterloo groups and companies, as well as an array of community partners.
As the leading entrepreneurship program at the University of Waterloo, Velocity was proud to exhibit a printer that enables low-cost circuit boards to be prototyped within minutes from Voltera, as well as the latest in app-controlled home gardening with Grobo.
Science Outreach sparked curiosity and interest in understanding how things work through a series of interactive demonstrations designed to engage youth in hands-on learning. Waterloo Unlimited high school enrichment program encouraged people of all ages to come create and play by helping build our community, literally. Kids and adults alike added their creative and colourful touches to buildings, schools, and houses, contributing to a community-driven collection.
