Last Thursday, the University of Waterloo marched alongside our community in Waterloo Region’s annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) march.

Take Back the Night

Join the University of Waterloo on Thursday, September 22, 2016 for Waterloo Region’s annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) march. Part of an international event targeting sexual and domestic violence, TBTN brings survivors and their allies together to walk in solidarity to draw public attention to the struggles women, children, and trans*people continue to face in our society.

Take Back the Night with UWaterloo

On Thursday, September 17, students, staff, and faculty are invited to join together and represent the University of Waterloo in the annual Take Back the Night march. From 6 – 9 p.m., the Kitchener-Waterloo community meets at Kitchener City Hall to march.

UWaterloo Takes Back the Night

Wearing black and gold, the group of UWaterloo students, faculty and staff stood out among the over 300 participants at the 31st annual Take Back the Night march and rally.  Numerous departments and groups on campus, such as the Federation of Student’s Women’s Centre, brought out members to this year’s event. Take Back the Night addresses the rights of women, children, and trans*people to be safe, without violence, regardless of age, creed, location, numbers, or attire.

All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to join the University of Waterloo and participate in Waterloo Region's 31st annual Take Back the Night rally and march.  Take Back the Night addresses the rights of women, children, and trans*people to be safe, without violence, regardless of age, creed, location, numbers, or attire.
