SUMMARY:Seminar • Systems and Networking • CASPR: Connectivity-Aware\nS
 cheduling for Partition Resilience
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: THIS SYN SEMINAR WILL TAKE PLACE IN DC 1304.\n\nSA
 RA QUNAIBI\, MASTER’S CANDIDATE\n_David R. Cheriton School of Computer S
 cience_\n\nSUPERVISOR: Professor Samer Al-Kiswany\n\nWe present a comprehe
nsive empirical study of the impact partial\nnetwork partitions have on cl
uster managers in data analysis\nframeworks. Our study shows that modern s
cheduling approaches are\nvulnerable to partial network partitions. Partia
l partitions can lead\nto a complete cluster pause or a significant loss o
 f performance.
