The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science has been ranked the top Computer Science university in Canada, 18th globally, by US News & World Report

The US News & World Report rankings are based on schools' academic research and reputation, and allow students to compare universities around the world.

CS Professor brings 3D printing to the Jewish community

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science professor Craig Kaplan is getting exposure in the Jewish community by manufacturing yarmulkes through 3D printing.

Kaplan's application of mathematical specification in the creation of the iconic symbol is one more example of how mathematics plays a role in our day to day lives.

2014 Cheriton Symposium poster competition results

On September 19, the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science hosted it's annual research symposium in the Davis Centre. 

28 graduate students, including those who were awarded Cheriton scholarships displayed their research posters in the great hall. Two prizes are awarded to the best posters present at the symposium. The first prize winner is awarded $300 and $200 goes to the second prize winner.

PhD Candidate Awarded Best Student Paper at 16th International Symposium on Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems

David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science PhD candidate, Fathiyeh Faghih (Borzoo Bonakdarpour), has been awarded the best student paper for her work on "SMT-based Synthesis of Distributed Self-stabilizing Protocols", at the 16th International Symposium on Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems (SSS '14), in Paderborn, Germany.
