Congregational Leadership and Mental Health - NEW TOPIC

ALL THREE DAYS HELD at Conrad Grebel University College, Waterloo

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).
This two day workshop is approved by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MCHH) and covers content in their Basic Mental Health First Aid course, and is taught by a MHCC trained instructor.

Congregational Leadership and Mental Health 
As recognition of mental health challenges faced in society has grown, it is also important for our congregations and faith communities to have a better awareness and understanding of various aspects of how this impacts care and potential conflict situations. This workshop will address such questions as, “How does mental health impact how we approach conflict?” and “What are strategies and tools that we can deploy to assist us and those with mental health in conflict situations?

Certificate Information:

While the MHFA content is a recognized training with content that builds skills in effective listening, with regards to recognition in the Conflict Management and Congregational Leadership certificate, only one of the two MHFA days will be counted towards certificate completion, and only when completed in conjunction with the one day application to congregational leadership.

i.e. If participants have completed the MHFA elsewhere, it will not be recognized unless a workshop on Mental Health and Congregational Leadership Day Three has been completed.
