Student blog:expect the unexpected

Life is filled with unexpected events! During the first week of class, we were told that “50% of life is about showing up” and I have kept that advice in my subconscious ever since.

Most entrepreneurs suffer from the “J-curve,” “hockey stick,” or “valley of death” syndrome. Let me be the first to admit, as an impoverished student and budding entrepreneur, I “sometimes” (read: always) seek ways to reduce expenditures. Okay, as painful embarrassing as it is for me to admit, “sometimes” may be an understatement. Frugality is encoded in my DNA.

Last Friday, I pitched my business in front of more people at once than I ever have before. The National Business and Technology Conference was held on March 8th and 9th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, bringing in 48 entrepreneurship teams from across Canada and hundreds of conference delegates.

This past weekend five of our MBET practicum teams, and three E Co-op businesses travelled to the National Business and Technology Conference (NBTC) in Toronto.
