We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.
MBET practicum team Milao Language has seen some great early success during their year at Conrad thus far. Most recently team members Camelia Nunez, Georgina Divaris, Joe Lee, and Alan Thai participated in the TiEQuest Business Venture Competition on March 1st. They have successfully advanced to the Top 25 (out of 200 teams) and will be pitching in a live judging round on March 23rd! Milao has the chance to walk away from TiEQuest with not only a great experience, but with some funding for their venture as well. There is $50,000 in prize money to be distributed and $31,000 in in-kind services on the table.
In the meantime Milao (and several other MBET practicum teams) will be pitching at the National Business and Technology Conference (NBTC) on March 8th for the chance win up to $5,000 in prize money. The conference attracts 400+ delegates and has 25 speakers lined up to talk all things tech and business.
And before they have time to breath again (and maybe hit the books on their MBET assignments!), Milao will be headed to Winnipeg for the Stu Clark Investment Competition from March 21-23. The prize pool at the Stu Clark competition is impressive: 1st prize is $20,000, 2nd prize is $10,000, and 3rd prize is $5,000.
Best of luck to Milao and all our practicum teams at business competitions this month. You always make us proud!
