Meghan Muldoon is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Recreation and Leisure studies at the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario. She studies tourism and its impacts on local communities in the developing world. Her areas of research interest include power in tourism encounters, the host gaze, postcolonial feminism, creative and arts-based methodologies, and she will be spending a significant portion of 2016 undertaking her dissertation research in South Africa. She lives in Guelph, Ontario, and enjoys biking, camping, and granola.
