Registration is now closed for the Critical Tourism Studies North America conference being held August 1-5, 2016 at the Summit Centre for the Environment in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.

Registration fees

Registration fees include:

  • access to all sessions including keynote presentations
  • lunches (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • opening reception (Monday)
  • evening reception and keynote (Tuesday)
  • gala dinner (Thursday).

Fees are as follows (all in Canadian dollars) and must be paid by June 15, 2016.

Regular registration submitted April 16 to June 15, 2016
$600 faculty, $500 student/post-doctoral fellow

Companion registration (includes two receptions and gala dinner) $225
Companions who wish to attend the conference sessions may register at the student/post-doctoral fellow rates.


There are a number of accommodation options available for the conference.

Dorm accommodations are available for $150 for all four nights August 1-4 (or part thereof). There is a mix of double and triple rooms available.

The Comfort Inn, Huntsville has a group rate for the conference of $134.99 plus 13% HST per night August 1-4 single or double. Please contact them directly at 705-789-1701 using "University of Waterloo Tourism Conference" to receive the group rate.

Other accommodation options include camping or other area hotels or resorts.

Cancellation policy

Fee payments are due by June 15, 2016 latest.
Cancellations prior to June 1, 2016 will receive a full refund.
Cancellations between June 1 to June 30, 2016 will receive a 50% refund.
There will be no refunds for cancellations July 1, 2016 or later.

Payment of registration fees

An invoice will be emailed to you on the next Wednesday following submission of the registration form , which you can then pay by credit card through the University of Waterloo's Accounts Receivable payment website. Instructions will be included with the invoice.
