Jeff Wilson delivers keynote speech at Duke University symposium

On October 12 Jeff Wilson presented the keynote address at a Duke University symposium, “The Philip Kapleau Papers: Zen Buddhism in Post-World War II Japan and the United States.”  The symposium celebrated the donation by the Rochester Zen Center of letters, tapes, photographs, and other materials related to its founder, Philip Kapleau.  As Jeff explained in his talk, “Grist for the Mill: The Philip Kapleau Papers in Context,” the papers represent a treasure trove of materials that will now be professionally preserved for current and future generations of researchers.  Similar archives, suc
