A scholarship, valued at least $3,000, will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full-time in a research-based master’s or doctoral program in the Faculty of Engineering, Math or Science who are part of the Quantum Information program.
This scholarship will be presented to a full-time graduate student who has been awarded an Ontario Graduate Scholarship and has been accepted into the Graduate program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The scholarship recipient will be pursuing a graduate degree with a concentration in electronics, microelectronics, semiconductor devices and integrated circuits. The Associate Chair of Graduate Studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering through the departmental scholarship committee will come up with a name or short list of eligible candidates. The name or short list of candidates will be presented to the scholarship committee of the Faculty of Engineering to select the candidate.
In 2004, Dr. Ron Schlegel, former faculty member and long-time friend and supporter of the University of Waterloo, established an annual research award for students studying in the area of aging within the graduate program in Health.
The Schneider Foods Graduate Scholarship will be presented to a full-time graduate student who has been awarded an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and has been accepted into the Graduate program in Engineering, Environment or Science. The scholarship recipient must be pursuing a graduate degree with a concentration in water resources and treatment.
An award will be provided annually to a graduate student registered full-time in the doctoral program in the School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo. Selection will be based on demonstrated academic excellence (i.e. minimum cumulative average of 80%) and research potential. Depending on funds available, the SAF PhD Policy Committee will select a recipient annually in the fall term.
The School of Optometry Class of 1948 Graduate Scholarship Endowment is awarded annually to a full-time University of Waterloo School of Optometry graduate student whose research focuses on areas that will benefit the vision related needs of society in general, with priority given to students who have a special emphasis on the issues that affect those who are without professional optometric care.
