The glass ceiling. It’s the invisible barrier that prevents women from advancing equitably in an employment hierarchy. One of the most notable examples is the lack of women in cybersecurity and privacy, which intersects with many STEM fields. Despite studies indicating that girls tend to perform as well as boys in math and science during elementary and high school, only a few of them pursue STEM in post-secondary education.

Innovation, Science and Economic Development ISED Canada just announced that NCC has been selected to lead the Cyber Security Innovation Network CSIN! You can find the ISED news release here in English and French.

For the first time ever, The Water Institute have partnered with BlackBerry to create the inaugural Water Innovation Challenge! This challenge is open to University of Waterloo professors & students and aims to identify innovative applications of BlackBerry technologies that address water-related challenges or opportunities.

A new compute facility, the Chippie cluster, is now available for use by researchers sponsored by CPI members. Chippie features fast multi-core processors and several GPUs.
