Welcome to Theatre & Performance, Speech Communication, and Digital Arts Communication
Welcome! In this department, we believe that understanding and experiencing the many facets of performance and communication contribute to a rich and complete humanities education. All our programs integrate academic and practical work to produce the best education in our disciplines.
We offer two sets of degree programs and one minor: Speech Communication, Theatre and Performance, and Digital Arts Communication. Our faculty pursue distinct and overlapping areas of work encompassing teaching, research, and creative activity in digital arts communication, theatre theory and practice, and communication as the processes by which people create meaning in communities.

In conjunction with the performance the students of DRAMA/SPCOM 440 will create a series of collaborative installations in the Theatre of the Arts Gallery between March 14 -19. Students will provide creative reflections on the prevalence of gender-based violence within contemporary North American society. These installations will feature multi-disciplinary art works that critically examine how the rhetoric of rape culture is supported and circulated throughout institutions, social interactions and popular channels of communication.
