Adjunct Prof. Cees van Staal awarded the 2019 Logan Medal

Earth and Environmental Sciences Adjunct Professor Cees van Staal has been awarded the 2019 Logan Medal by the Geological Association of Canada.

The Logan Medal is the association's highest award and named after Sir William Edmond Logan, noted 19th-century Canadian geologist. The Logan Medal is the association's highest award and annually awarded to an individual for sustained distinguished achievement in Canadian earth science.

Van Staal is the first Waterloo scientist to win the medal. He will receive the award at the Geological Association of Canada's annual meeting in Quebec City this May.
