Prime Minister announces $12M for new water tech partnerships

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains visited the University of Waterloo today to announce $12 million in funding to bring industry and academic researchers together to build the next generation of water technologies.

Elizabeth Houghton wins 2015 Allen Freeze Award

Congratulations to undergraduate Elizabeth Anne Houghton for winning the 2015 Allen Freeze Award in Hydrogeology. The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers the annual award to the first- or second-year student who obtains the highest mark in EARTH 123 Introductory Hydrology.

Water Institute announces Pieter Aukes as a graduate scholarship winner

The Water Institute announced Pieter Aukes, a PhD student with Professor Sherry Schiff, will receive a 2015-16 Golder Associates Graduate Scholarships in Water valued at $5,000 for his "scholastic excellence and demonstrated success in water research."
